Two Spanish reporters who worked in the occupied territories of Donbass and have engaged in a spreading of false information were expelled from Ukraine.
In particular, the reporters Antonio Pampliegu and Manuel Anhel Sastre were the authors of the notes in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine was accused in the shelling of Pervomaisk in 2014, as well in deliberately destroying of the mines of Donbass, IA "Vchasno" reports.
According to El Mundo, in 2015, reporters were included in the list of citizens posing a threat to the national security of Ukraine, but after the protest of the Spanish government, Ukraine canceled sanctions against European journalists in May 2016.
However, it turned out that Pumpliegu and Sastre were included in another list created by the Security Service, which included another 40 other people. At the same time, journalists were banned from entering Ukraine until 2020.
After 20 hours of waiting at the airport, reporters were expelled to the Netherlands.
It is reported that the Spanish government did not react to this incident, and journalistic organizations, on the contrary, spoke about the deportation of their colleagues. In their opinion, this is nothing more than an attack on the free press. The Madrid Press Association, in particular, called the actions of Kiev «an attempt of an authoritarian regime to introduce censorship».
