A pupil of the 11th grade of the Mariupol Technical Lyceum was awarded a gold medal at the GENIUS Olympiad in the USA.
Kateryna Malkina, a pupil of the 11th grade of the Mariupol Technical Lyceum, was awarded a gold medal at the GENIUS Olympiad 2018, which was held in Oswego (New York, USA).
It was reported on the GENIUS Olympiad website.
Kateryna presented her project in the field of chemical engineering «Method for the bio-utilization of high-density polyethylene».
The innovation of the work is the creation of a new low-cost, and most importantly — a safe way of utilizing high-density polyethylene, which can minimize the technogenic impact on the environment, and also help with the solution of several large-scale problems associated with incineration of garbage.
GENIUS Olympiad 2018 is the annual international university Olympiad, which is founded by Oswego State University of New York (SUNY) and is traditionally held in the second half of June. The Olympiad takes place in several stages and allows young people from different countries to share their first scientific experience.
