From March 1 to March 3, the Scottish city of Glasgow (the UK) became the venue for the European Athletics Indoor Championships, which became special for the Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, the bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games in the triple jump Olga Saladukh, the Office of Physical Culture and sports of the Donetsk Regional State Administration reports.
It is noted that for the first time in the past 5 years, the athlete of the Donetsk region, the pupil of the Honored Coach of Ukraine Anatoly Boyko, managed to climb to the pedestal of international official competitions.
«After August 2014, when she celebrated her victory at the European Championship in Zurich in Switzerland, Olga had to endure a difficult period of rehab and recovery associated with back injuries. And, in 2019, Saladukha returned to the European top-three», it is said in the report.

In qualification, Olga from the first attempt showed a better result not only in the season but among all participants — 14.40 m. Olga Saladukha’s performance in Glasgow brought her a bronze medal. Paraskeva Paphristu from Greece was the silver winner with a personal record (14.50 m), and Spaniard Ana Peleteiro scored the «gold» with the best result of the season in Europe (14.73 m).
«It's good to come back after such a long break. I had problems with my back and doctors for a long time forbade me to jump, but thanks to doctors and physiotherapists, today I had a good day. I was even happy just to be here. Hopefully, any problems will not bother me because I will start preparations for the Olympic Games», Olga Saladukha said.
It should be noted that another representative of the Donetsk region in Glasgow, the debutant of the European championships in the premises of Anna Krasutska, who also specializes in triple jump competitions, took the 8th place in the finale with a better attempt at 13.95 m. Her mentor is Honored Coach of Ukraine Mykhailo Marchenko.
