10 Women Remain Hostages to Militants in Donbass

Among the hostages held by militants in the territory of the CDDLR (certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions), there are 10 women who must be released first.

In total, 158 Ukrainian hostages are still in the dungeons of militants, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Irina Gerashchenko said at the first Ukrainian Women's Congress.

According to Irina Gerashchenko, the occupation authorities of Donbass block the process of exchange of hostages. At the same time, the position of the Ukrainian government is that women should be freed from captivity first.

"Among the 158 hostages in the occupied territories of the CDDR and the CDLR and held by militants, there are 10 women," —  the VR speaker said.

The last exchange of hostages between Kyiv and CDDLR took place in September last year.
