32 Children Died and 70 Were Injured Since Russia Started War in Ukraine

The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Lyudmila Denisova said that since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 32 children have died and another 70 have been injured.

She called on the international community and human rights activists to close the skies in Ukraine from Russian aircraft.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Lyudmila Denisova.

«As a result of 47 shellings of civilian objects in Kyiv oblast, two children died. About a hundred people, including children, may be under the rubble of houses in the village of Borodyanka in Kyiv oblast. Their fate is unknown,» she said.

She stressed that in the village of Markhalivka, Fastiv district, Kyiv oblast, enemy shells killed 3 children. Rocket and artillery shelling killed 5 children in Kharkiv.

«In Kyiv oblast, a car with 6 civilians was shot dead with tank machine guns of a column of military equipment of the occupiers on March 4, 2022. A 17-year-old girl and a woman died, four others were wounded by shrapnel wounds, including girls aged 17 and 7,» she wrote.

Denisova noted that Russian troops continue to cynically violate children's right to life, enshrined in Article 6 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Early in the morning on February 24, Russia started the full-scale war in the territory of Ukraine. The occupiers are cynically shelling not only military facilities but also civilians.
