How Donbas Residents Voted in the Presidential Election in Ukraine

The first round of the presidential election took place yesterday in Ukraine.

The presidential election was held in 18 districts in Donbas. 1211 polling stations worked in the Donetsk region, and 536 in the Lugansk region. In the Joint Forces Operation zone, 79 special polling stations were formed for the military, «Vchasno» NA reports.

Over 240 violations of the electoral law were recorded in Donbas on the day, 7 criminal proceedings were initiated on the facts of counterfeiting of bulletins and bribing voters.

59.48% of voters have voted in the Donetsk region.

In the Lugansk region, 56.76% of people have voted.

In total, 62.79% of Ukrainian voters have made a choice.

The lowest number of voters was registered in the Zakarpattya region (47%).

12.62% of voters voted in a foreign constituency.

According to the Central Election Commission, after processing 66.7% of protocols, a showman, TV humorist Volodymyr Zelensky with 30.45% of the votes and current head of state Petro Poroshenko with 16.22% of votes will participate in the second round of presidential election in Ukraine.
