A video of the Russian occupiers deporting civilians from occupied Mariupol to Russia was published on social media for the first time, the mayor's adviser Petro Andryushchenko reported.
According to the official, the recording shows the Metro shop area. The occupiers announce an evacuation and bring buses. Already during the boarding, occupiers tell people that the transport will take people to the village of Bezimenne, and from there to Russia.
«Russian military and „official volunteers“ are blocking any attempts to leave the place and refuse to evacuate,» Andryushchenko said.
Too many deportees undergo humiliating procedures, so-called filtering (inspection and examination conducted by the Russians), and end up in prison.
Andryushchenko also said that on May 20, 416 Mariupol residents, including 46 children, were taken from the Mariupol filtration camp in Bezimenne.
From the village, 512 people were deported to Russia after filtering. The destination from the railway station in Taganrog is being established.
According to the latest data, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has deported more than 1.185 million Ukrainians, including 200,000 children.
inews.co.uk has identified 66 camps in a network of former Soviet sanatoriums and other sites in regions including Siberia, the Caucasus, the Arctic Circle, and the Far East.
Investigators have identified 6,250 people in 38 of the camps, including 621 children. If full, the 66 camps could contain about 10,800 people, including 1,000 children, with more than a third of the camps containing citizens of Mariupol. Some are yet to house Ukrainians despite being prepared by local officials.
