Internally Displaced Persons of Donbass Live on $2.5 a Day

After leaving the occupied territories of Donbass, a lot of IDPs have to live on $2.5 a day.

On average, the income of internally displaced persons in Ukraine is 1990 hryvnias - or $75 per month, which is equivalent to about $2.5 a day, IA "Vchasno" reports.

According to the analysis of the International Organization for Migration, 21% of internally displaced persons in Ukraine must rely on two dollars at a time when a loaf of bread costs about 40 cents.

According to the Ministry of Social Policy in Ukraine, more than a half million IDPs, who left the occupied Crimea and the ATO zone in the Donbass, have been registered.

Two-thirds of all internally displaced persons rent housing, and one-fifth live with their relatives. About 40% of IDPs dream to return home after the end of the conflict.
