Lithuania Selected a Film about the War in Donbass for Best Foreign-language Film for an Oscar

The film by Lithuanian director Sarunas Bartas "Frost", telling about the war in Donbass, will qualify for an Oscar.

The picture was nominated by Lithuania for the award in the nomination "Best film in a foreign language", IA "Vchasno" reports.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Frost" is a film of joint production of Lithuania, France, Ukraine and Poland. The budget of a picture was 1.4 million dollars.

The shooting took place in Donbass - in the Kurakhovo, Mariinka and Krasnogorovka regions, as well as in Dnipro, Kiev and on the territory of France, Lithuania and Poland.

The main role in the tape was performed by American actress Vanessa Parodis alongside Lithuanian actors Mantas Janciauskas and Lyja Maknaviciute and Poland's Andrzej Chyra.

Also in the tape documentary footage with the Ukrainian military and journalists in the ATO zone was used.

In the Ukrainian box office "Frost" will appear on October 5.
