Musicians from Front-Line Donbas City Had a Sold-Out Show at a Festival in Europe

Musicians of the Mariupol Chamber Philharmonic took part in the festival of classical music, timed to the Christmas celebrations, which took place in Italy.

As a part of a combined symphony orchestra, Mariupol musicians gave 5 concerts in four Italian cities, the press service of the Mariupol City Council reports.

Ukrainian orchestra was invited by the Italian side.

«The only condition was the participation of not a chamber, but a symphony orchestra. For this, we have assembled such an orchestra from all over Ukraine. It is based on the chamber orchestra „Renaissance“ and the musicians of the brass band of the Mariupol Philharmonic. About 20 more people — musicians from Dnipro, Lviv, Uzhgorod, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv. Thus, a combined symphony orchestra was formed. It was headed by Vasyl Kryachok,» said Diana Trima, director of the cultural and social development department of the city council.

According to Diana Trima, three concert programs of the European level were prepared for the festival. The Ukrainian band played five concerts: the first in Sorrento, the next two in Vico-Equense. Then in the city of Potenza, and the final was Pesha. In addition to Vasily Kryachka, three famous Italian conductors did their work. One of them is Paolo Scibilia. He showed interest in the Ukrainian orchestra and expressed a wish to visit Mariupol.

«This is the first time we have risen to such a high international level. A symphony orchestra was gathered from different parts of Ukraine. Full halls were everywhere we had shows, at concerts, there were a lot of young people. It was a pleasant surprise,» Diana Trima emphasized.
