Principal Deputy Chief Alexander Hug Visited Donetsk Region and Met with its Governor

Principal Deputy Chief of OSCE SMM Alexander Hug met in Avdeevka with the governor of Donetsk Oblast Pavel Zhebrivsky and discussed with him topical problems of the front-line zone of Donbass.

The main topic of the conversation was the restoration of objects damaged as a result of hostilities, IA “Vchasno” reports.

According to Pavel Zhebrivsky, the region's administration receives 10-15 applications every day for repair of gas pipelines, electric grids, buildings and other objects damaged by shelling.

On his Facebook page, Pavel Zhebrivsky said that the Ukrainian side always goes to a meeting in such cases and guarantees the safety of repairmen, while the militants allow carrying out repair work for a maximum of one or two objects.

"In fact, the militants are actually holding hundreds of thousands of peaceful population of Donbass in hostages," the oblast head noted.

In addition, Zhebrivsky said that he considers the people living in separate regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions to be Ukrainian citizens and he feels personal responsibility for them. Also, he added that the problem of armed confrontation will be resolved as soon as the Russian-Ukrainian state border will be closed.
