Since the end of August, Russia has strengthened its groupings along the entire border with Ukraine — from Belarus to the occupied Crimea and Transnistria, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said today during his visit to the JFO zone.
The head of state noted that the ground grouping of Russian troops along the border of Ukraine, in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea, consists of 28 battalion tactical groups, more than 1,120 tanks, 2,600 armored vehicles, 1,230 artillery systems, and 442 multiple rocket launchers, 6 operational missile systems.
As Poroshenko noted, the data of space intelligence demonstrate the deployment of Russian tanks at a distance of 18 km from the Ukrainian border. Only in one direction, the number of tanks has almost tripled since mid-September, from 92 to 250 vehicles, the president added.
Poroshenko stressed that the Ukrainian line of defense was strengthened to the maximum, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready at any moment to respond to the provocative actions of the aggressor.
In addition, Petro Poroshenko summed up the three weeks of the martial law regime, which was introduced in 10 regions of Ukraine.
«During this time, we managed to strengthen the air defense, increased the intensity of training of command and control bodies and troops, especially in the territories of 10 regions that border the Russian Federation. Now our soldiers-reservists, who are standing in line at the military registration and enlistment offices, are studying at the landfills throughout Ukraine», President said.
