The Detective about the War in the Donbass Will Be Removed in Ukraine with the Participation of ATO Fighters

The shooting of the military detective “Call sign Banderas” about the fighting in the Donbas will start in Ukraine in spring.

The plot of the film tells about the events in the ATO zone in autumn 2014, reports IA “Vchasno” referring to the Ukrainian State Film Agency.

A group of scouts led by experienced officer Anton Saenko (call sign “Banderas”) tries to prevent sabotage and neutralize the Russian bomber Khodok. The events take place in the native village of Banderas, which he abandoned long ago and whose residents treat him like a traitor.

In addition to the actors, real participants of the ATO will take participation in the shooting process. Starring actor of the Dneprovsky Theater “Verim” Oleg Shulga who also was a volunteer in the Donbass.

The shooting of the film will start in mid-May and will take place in the Kherson region and in the Odessa region. Before this, the film crew will spend a week at the training ground in the Kirovograd region, along with instructors, to get as much as possible into the role and feel the atmosphere of hostilities.

The budget of the film will be about 40 million hryvnias, half of which will be allocated from the state budget.
