The head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine held a meeting with the military leadership and heads of law enforcement agencies in the area of the Joint Forces Operation, the press service of the department reports.
According to Turchynov, during the week the biggest in the last six months number of shellings not only of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine but also of settlements was recorded.
«Artillery, tanks, rocket launcher systems prohibited by the Minsk agreements are used,» the head of the National Security and Defense Council said.
The shelling of the Ukrainian territory is carried out to a depth of 30 kilometers, as a result of which civil infrastructure is destroyed, there are dead not only among the military but also among civilians.
In addition, Turchynov said that Ukrainian intelligence is monitoring the active concentration of Russian troops in close proximity to the Russian-Ukrainian border, which is indicative of «the preparation by the Russian military-political leadership of large-scale provocations and offensive actions that can begin at any time.»
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine visited the positions of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after Danil Galitsky in the Horlivka district, where recently the greatest density of shelling and military provocations by Russian-terrorist forces was recorded.
