Ukraine Lost 20% of GDP as a Result of the War in the Donbass

Ukraine's gross domestic product fell by 20.4% because of the military conflict in the Donbass.

This represents 66 billion 749 million dollars, reports IA "Vchasno."

 According to the Institute for Economics and Peace in Sydney (Australia), for Ukraine a war in the Donbass had cost of exactly this amount.

In the Global Peace Index, which was published by the Institute, Ukraine is ranked 19th in the ranking of countries that suffered economic losses due to armed conflicts.

According to the rating, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan suffered the biggest financial losses in the past year because of the wars. India ended up at the last, 70th place.

Russia takes 31 line - last year due to participation in military conflicts it lost 15.2% of GDP, which is 515 billion 558 million dollars.

Ukraine also ranked 12th in the ranking of the most militarized countries.

Israel recognized as the most militarized, the second and third places of the rating are taken by Russia and North Korea.
