Donbas Sportsmen Won Awards at International Competitions

Athletes from the Donetsk region won awards at the international tournament and world championship.

The Tallinn International Open Tournament of 2019, which has gathered more than 200 teams from many countries of the world, recently took place in Tallinn, Estonia. This is reported on the page of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Donetsk State Regional Administration.

Pupils of the Donetsk high school of the Olympic reserve named after S. Bubka took part in these competitions to prepare for the championship of Ukraine and the European Championship (U-15).

According to the results of the competition, sportsmen of the Donetsk region won two gold medals: in the weight category up to 39 kg — Maria Efremova, in the weight category up to 43 kg — Anastasia Kudryavtseva.

Their coaches are Andrey Efremov and Maxim Efremov.

In turn, Natalia Radionova brought from Poland two «bronzes» of the world championship in track and field athletics in the category «Masters».

Competitions took place in the city of Torun (Poland). They were attended by 4,500 veteran athletes from 88 countries.

The largest representation in Torun was the Polish team — 870 athletes, as well as Germany — 475 athletes, the United Kingdom — 393, Spain — 287, Italy — 230. The awards of the World Cup were made by representatives from 55 countries, and also established 37 world records of different age categories.

Among 88 countries, the team of Ukraine ranked 17th in the overall team, having won 24 medals (gold — 7, silver — 7, bronze — 10).

Natalia Radionova from Bakmut (the Donetsk region) became a double bronze medalist — in throwing weight (9,080 kg) and throwing a hammer (4 kg).
