This year, the development of the design and estimate documentation of the base, and any time soon the construction of administrative buildings in Sviatohirsk will begin, the spokesman for the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Maksym Kyrychenko told the correspondent of IA "Vchasno".
The main training base of the region since 2014 remains in occupied Donetsk, therefore it is very important for athletes to have a new playground in the territory under control of Ukraine. After all, representatives of the Donetsk region successfully compete in international competitions - in 2017 they won 1900 medals, 243 of them on the international arena. Lyman resident Olexii Rokochiy at the X World Games has become a champion in powerlifting. Sportsmen with disabilities brought a lot of joy to the fans: “gold", "silver" and three "bronzes" were in an asset of judo athletes Maryna Pogorelova, Eugene Nekhayev, athlete Rimma Filimoshkina and basketball player Olexander Kuznetsov at the XXIII Summer Deaflympics.
Also in 2018 in the Donetsk region the building of playgrounds with artificial surface will continue. Half of the funds are provided by the Football Federation of Ukraine, and the other half - the cities of the region will allocate. Last year, 83 sports playgrounds with artificial surface and 200 sports fields with fitness anti-vandal equipment were already opened.
In addition, the construction of the "Lyodova Arena" and the pool in Kramatorsk will continue.
It is planned to open Donetsk higher school of Olympic reserve named after S. Bubka. Reconstruction of a five-storey dormitory for pupils and college students will begin and the regional medical exercises dispensary will be opened in Bakhmut. Diagnostics and treatment of people engaged in sports activities will be carried out here.
