"It Is Not a Frozen Conflict, It Is a Hot War" - A Representative of the U.S Department of State about What He Saw in Avdiivka

Today, July 23, a delegation of the U.S Department of State visited the frontline Avdiivka of Donetsk region.

During the visit to the area of the anti-terrorist operation in the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, an official delegation of the U.S Department of State led by the special representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker visited the frontline Avdiivka, the press center of the headquarters of the ATO reports.

The delegation held a meeting with the military, representatives of the military civil administration and the affected residents of the city.

"I came here personally to get acquainted with the details of these events. I can say — this is a terrible tragedy because we know that Ukraine is a flourishing state", — Kurt Volker said.

According to Volker, he heard the tragedy of people, saw the destruction with his own eyes.

"Our main task is to restore the integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, — he continued. — As I understand, this is not a frozen conflict, it is a hot war. And the price is dangerously high - human lives. "

Representatives of the delegation visited the renovated school and Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant.

According to Kurt Volker, after the visit to Ukraine, he plans to hold a series of meetings with representatives of European governments in order to consolidate the position on the situation in the ATO zone with the allies.
