A delegation of 19 European parliamentarians, led by the co-chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of the Ukraine-European Union Association, Dariusz Rosati, visited a number of infrastructure and social facilities of the city, met with local residents and Ukrainian soldiers who defend Avdiivka, IA “Vchasno” reports.
The purpose of the visit of foreign guests to the front-line zone is to determine the priority areas of assistance for Ukraine from the European Union.
Co-chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of the Ukraine-European Union Association Dariusz Rosati"We are surprised at the pace of reconstruction, which we saw here, with the determination with which people restore their lives in this city," Dariusz Rosati, co-chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of the Ukraine-European Union Association said to IA “Vchasno”. - But we see that there is a huge work front, in particular, it concerns water supply, communal and social services. We see that Avdiivka needs cash aid, among other things. "
According to Dariusz Rosati, the visit of his colleagues to the front-line zone was quite emotional. Many of the parliamentarians were surprised by the conditions in which the local residents had to survive for the fourth year.
"One of the main goals of our visit is to tell you that you are not alone, that Europe is with you. There are still people who do not have a clear idea of what the situation is here.
We must inform the whole Europe who is the victim and who is the aggressor. The scale of needs, with regard to technical and financial assistance, they are huge, so we will try to convince our colleagues to expand the amount of assistance for Ukraine”, Rosati added.
